Why is PSPVC so slow? What can I do to speed things up?

2008-10-21from:intwww.chnsbs.com

Well, the speed depends on how fast computer you have, if you´re using the H264 codec, how high bitrate you´re using etc.

If your computer is equiped with a Core 2 Duo processor, you can speed things a bit up by using the "Threads" feature from the "Advanced" section.
If you dont care much about the visual quality, then you can disable the "H264" codec, this will increase the speed a lot, but then the quality will suffer.

You can speed things a little bit more up by disabling all fancy image tweaks and turn off all settings in the "Advanced" section. But then again, the visual quality will be decreased.

For those of you who just want to convert your videos the fasted way possible and dont care about the visual quality, here´s how to set up PSPVC:

  1. Set to a low bitrate and turn off the "Tolerance" option
  2. Make sure the "Resize" option is set to "ffmpeg"
  3. Uncheck the H264 codec
  4. Make sure the "Image Tweaks" are disabled
  5. Disable all settings in the "Advanced" section
